In 2007, I earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Spelman College. In 2011, I earned a Master of Arts in Early Childhood Education from the University of Phoenix Online Campus.
Experience
I am a Certified Educator in Early Childhood Education (P-5th and 4-8th Social Science). I tutored students while attending undergraduate school a couple of days a week. The subjects and grade levels varied. Shortly afterward, I met with 8 to 10 youth once or twice a week and assisted them with homework. The grade levels ranged from 1st grade to 8th grade. In 2010, I was hired as a paraprofessional. During that time, I tutored first and second graders on reading and phonics. I chose to work with youth long term because helping them brings such enjoyment. It also challenges me to think and convey the message in a way students will understand. I've learned how to teach or assist them without giving them “the answers.” I want to continue the process of helping students with different methods of thinking instead of what to think. Overtime, students should be able to explain why they chose an answer. It is my goal to continue to facilitate an effective learning experience for children.

Hobbies
I enjoy hanging out with my family and friends at home or during a night out on the town. I enjoy watching comedies and romances. I love playing sports (volleyball & basketball) outdoors when it’s not extremely hot outside. I enjoy reading and getting ideas from Parent’s Magazine.
