ExperienceLike many educators, I was drawn into the field because I am passionate about the learning process. My desire to be among people who share that passion led me to earn a bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education from Kennesaw State University. After graduation, I embarked upon a career as a substitute teacher and tutor. The bulk of my training has been in Social Studies and Language Arts, but I enjoy teaching Art and Science as well. Other subjects that I tutor include Math, Reading, Writing, Literature, Grammar, History, Geography, and English. I can also tutor AP-level students in the Humanities and Social Sciences. When working with a student, I believe in taking a supportive but firm approach. I want the student to feel comfortable about engaging in the learning process, but not so comfortable that he or she loses the drive to work hard. I keep up with the latest educational research to make sure that my methods are backed by up-to-date data.Though teaching occupies much of my time, I still manage to find time to exercise, draw, explore, read, and enjoy spicy food.
