Experience
In all my years of teaching, I have learned that a classroom will almost always be populated by students that want to learn and students that do not want to learn. It is my responsibility, as a teacher, to help and encourage the students that are already driven, and to motivate those students that are not as enthusiastic about learning. In order for this to happen, I believe that learning must begin in a comfortable and safe environment that is free from judgement. I am a very experienced teacher. I have worked as a special education administrator and teacher for suburban city schools for over thirty years. My expertise is in helping children who have special needs and behavior disorders. I have taught a vast range of subjects from social skills to reading. I am able to teach several subjects at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. My bachelor's degree is in elementary education from Morris Brown College. My master's degree is in behavior disorders and, separately, in leadership for director of special education from Atlanta University. My vast experience has prepared me to handle a wide variety of students with patience and acceptance. My hobbies include exercising, reading, and playing golf.
