Due to personal experiences in my childhood, I have a great passion for the medical field, as well as science and engineering. I survived childhood leukemia, and as a result of the multiple uncomfortable MRIs I had to endure, I began to think about better ways this test could be conducted. This passion has since led me to Biomedical Engineering as the best field for my interests and personal philosophy. Like many tutoring students, I was not the perfect student from day one. I have had to study hard to improve my understanding of tough subjects like physics and math. I have read a lot of supplementary books, including "A Brief History of Time" by Stephen Hawking. I've been a researcher and research assistant for my professor mentor, where we worked on Green Chemistry to begin to improve the laboratories at my school, Spelman College, to make them more environmentally friendly. I also worked as a researcher on a breast cancer treatment project using medicinal chemistry. With all of these different areas of study, I will make a great tutor for any age group in chemistry, mathematics, and biological sciences. When I am not studying and tutoring, I like to go shopping, socialize with family and friends, and watch movies on Netflix.
