¡Hola! My name is Mary and I have a Spanish addiction... In all seriousness, I live for Spanish. From a young age I have had a love of foreign languages and have always been great at mimicking accents. I recieved my Bachelor´s degree at Georgia State University in Spanish where I learned the basics about grammar, culture, and linguistics. After graduating, I took some time off to travel around South America. I spent the most time in Argentina (10 months), but also spent time in Uruguay, Chile, and Peru. My experience traveling has given me the tools to teach not only Spanish grammar and vocabulary, but also the cultural aspect of many Spanish-speaking countries. After a South America-withdrawal and a bit of culture shock upon my return to the States back in 2013, I started my Master´s in Spanish at Georgia State University where I have been employed as a Graduate Teaching Assistant and a tutor in the language lab ever since. I have lots of experience with one-on-one tutoring and also teaching group classes. Many students say that I am a great tutor because I am able to explain things to them in an understandable and clear way. Because I have gone through the process of learning Spanish myself, I can empathize with the common problems and frustrations of learning a language.
