Experience
I earned my bachelor's degree in Mass Media Arts at Clark Atlanta University. I also hold two Master of Education degrees, one from Walden University and the other from Grand Canyon University. I have been a teacher and tutor for over 15 years, and I hold certifications in elementary education, middle level social studies and math, and a gifted endorsement. I have worked with students from elementary schoolers to high schoolers in subjects including ESL, math, reading, writing, literature, history, social studies, and many others. I am also able to help students prepare for tests like the ISEE, HSPT, and SSAT, and enjoy watching their enthusiasm for education increase as their scores rise. Though I'm able to help students in many different subjects, I'm most enthusiastic about tutoring students in English, literature, and history. I like to adjust my teaching style to fit the student's preferred method of learning, and I come prepared with the right learning tools for each student's needs. I truly believe all children are capable of learning, and I hold myself to the same high standards I hold for my students. When I'm not tutoring or teaching, I enjoy reading, coaching sports, volunteering, and outdoors activities.
