I am a tutor with more than five years of experience teaching students in American history, American literature, English, English grammar, technical writing, and reading. I attended Wayne State University and graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara with a master's degree in English. I am comfortable tutoring students at both the middle school level and the high school level. I am also available to tutor students in public speaking and phonics. I am also capable assisting students with writing and editing essays at the collegiate level. My philosophy as a tutor emphasizes the fact that each student has a unique learning style. My goal as a tutor is to help students develop study skills that will be the most beneficial when it comes to their individual learning styles. When tutoring students in writing, I focus on developing persuasive arguments, creating outlines based on content, and helping students come up with a clear and concise theses. I am also a firm believer in methodologies and research. In my free time, I enjoy learning Spanish and German.
