Experience
I have a passion and love for education, and an extensive background in tutoring/teaching Reading, Writing, Social Studies, Math, and Grammar. My main objective as a teacher and tutor is to provide a quality educational experience for the students I teach by making sure they are engaged in their education. As a Clayton State University graduate, I earned a bachelor's degree in Middle Grades Education Language Arts. In addition, I received my Curriculum Instruction Management and Administration degree, as well as an Instructional Development degree from Central Michigan University. Furthermore, I have my Early Childhood Education associate's degree, as well as almost 20 hours of an Instructional Leadership Doctoral degree. My extensive teaching experience, which includes being a summer school teacher, writer's workshop teacher, staff development work sessions teacher, and eight years as a public school teacher, ensures that I will be a great tutor for you or your child. I am the original organizer of a summer bridge program at my school, which helps to prepare students for more difficult academia from their upcoming school year. My passing rates for students taking standardized testing is outstanding, having a 98% passing rate for the Writing/Language arts section of the test, and 97% on the portion for Reading. In the 2012-2013 school year I was awarded teacher of the year. When I'm not teaching, I like reading, cooking, shopping, and spending time with friends and family.
