EducationGeorgia State University - BA, Economics , Georgia State University - MAT, Teaching
ExperienceI earned an undergraduate degree in economics (major) and women's studies (minor) at Georgia State University, and then went on to complete requirements for my master's degree in teaching at the same academic institution.Over the course of my teaching career, I had the opportunity to tutor homeless children residing at the Atlanta, Georgia-based Nicholas House. I also tutored students after school. Meanwhile, I had the chance to conduct one-on-one lessons in guitar.Social studies, particularly upper-level economics as well as history, happen to be my favorite subjects, which means that providing tutoring services in these subjects is greatly enjoyable for me. I endeavor to learn the teaching styles of my students so that I can adopt a personalized approach to best communicate the information needed. What I seek to do is to get students to buy into the program, and they're eager to do so when they see that we'll achieve their goals by working together as a team. When I'm away from the classroom, I dedicate a lot of my time to performing and practicing with my two indie rock bands. I play bass and guitar, and I write a lot of the songs in our repertoires. Additionally, I love spending time with my dog.
HobbiesI spend a lot of time writing songs, playing in my band, walking my dog, reading news blogs, and drinking coffee. Sometimes I rewatch Miyazaki films.
