I tailor my tutoring style to the needs of each student. I endeavor to foster an atmosphere that allows students to feel secure and open to learning. My specialty is tutoring Mandarin Chinese because I was born in Sichuan, China. This attribute is highly favorable to those students who want firsthand insights into Chinese culture. I can also accommodate learners who just need a quick pre-exam refresher to help them pass their language test. As far as other Asian languages are concerned, I am familiar with basic Korean. If the student is interested in learning in Japanese, I can help them with that skill as well, since I studied it for four years. Now for bit more about my background. I relocated to the states in my late teens to complete my undergrad studies at the University of Iowa. This is where I majored in Japanese as well as Communication. I was able to hone my teaching skills before I even graduated when I secured a job as a Mandarin language tutor. Right now, I'm studying Communication Management as a graduate student at the University of Southern California. My availability for tutoring is adjustable to meet the needs of my students. When I'm not tutoring, I do a lot of reading, shopping, and movie watching. Finally, I round out my spare time with relaxing yoga classes and cooking.
