I graduated from Duke University with a B.A. in Cultural Theory and Literature. I'm pursuing a doctorate in English Literature at UVa. My academic and personal interests are wide-ranging, and include Film Studies, Pop Culture, Gender Studies, African-American Lit, etc. I'm writing my dissertation on Contemporary United States Fiction. I have experience teaching Literature and freshman seminars in Writing. I thoroughly enjoy working with students one-on-one to improve their writing. It's rewarding to witness their work become more eloquent, clear, and strong throughout the drafting and editing process. I also love helping students to develop effective and attentive reading strategies. My work as a teacher and tutor have shown me that any student can succeed in writing and understanding literature. An educator's job is to encourage and push students to keep practicing. I can tutor students in Reading, Writing, Literature, and A.P. English Language and Composition. I can help you to improve essay editing skills, grammar and mechanics comprehension, and test-taking (SATs, GREs, PSATs, etc.). I enjoy reading, cooking, and going to museums.
