Private tutor in Atlanta, GA
Boston College - BA, English , Georgia State University - PhD, English/Creative Writing
I earned a bachelor's degree in English with an Asian American Studies minor from Boston College. Then I moved on to obtain a master's at Florida International University, where I studied Creative Writing, and a PhD from Georgia State University in English. I currently work at a University System of Georgia school near Atlanta. There I teach a number of courses on writing and one world lit course. I am very experienced tutoring students in all facets of the English field, as well as helping them as they prepare for tests like the SAT, PSAT, SSAT, and ISEE. I understand that writing and command of the English language doesn't come naturally to everyone, but I believe it is one of the foundations for any education, as it comes into play in every single field of study. I think there is a lot to be learned about our inner selves and about the world around us through the processes of writing and reading, so I attempt to instill that in each of my students. In my free time I enjoy staying active by running and doing yoga, as well as knitting, reading, and watching movies.
