I have the experience as an educator that you need to be successful. I also provide other services that draw on my background as an editor and performing artist.I have a bachelor's degree in Music and English Writing from Loyola University in New Orleans and have the necessary certification to teach English and Music to students from kindergarten through their senior year in high school. I have taught mainly in middle school and high school, but I have also been successful with younger and older students.As a tutor I believe it is not enough to teach or coach; you must listen and observe to understand how a student learns, then teach in a way that maximizes his or her strengths. I have seen many diverse learning styles.My specialty is English Language Arts, which includes literature, grammar, writing, and reading. I also have nearly 10 years of experience in multiple other subjects, especially math. I will always include study skills in our sessions to help the student become an independent learner. In addition, I can help graduate students and others in academia prepare papers and manuscripts for publication or presentation.
