Experience
I'm attending Emory University to earn my bachelor's degree in international studies and South Asian studies. I have four years of experience as a tutor, and I love this work. I find that I learn as much from students as they learn for me. Every student learns in their own way, so I learned to adapt my teaching approach to the needs of every student. I also want students to develop an interest in the subjects we study, so I utilize additional resources like videos and games to help keep them engaged. I do not lecture to students, but instead I make them an active part of the learning process. I encourage open communication in critical thinking, which I believe helps students better understand topics more quickly and allows them to develop self-sufficient learning skills. I believe students need strong support, and I will work alongside parents and teachers whenever possible to focus on the needs of the student. When I have some free time, I enjoy volleyball, surfing, snowboarding, and international studies.
