I'm a patient and optimistic tutor who has a knack for connecting with students and helping them achieve success. Science is my favorite subject, and I'm skilled at taking complex topics and breaking them down into explanations that are easier to understand. This help students develop a fundamental understanding of topics and allows them to apply their knowledge towards future learning. I also believe in repetition, writing things down, and regular quizzing to reinforce topics and to increase retention. I attended Arkansas State University for my bachelor's degree in biology, and graduated with honors. I also tutored at ASU and was given the lead science tutor position, allowing me to train tutors in teaching techniques that were effective. When I work with students, I'm patient, provide motivation, and set goals to help my students understand the topic, but also to help them improve their own study skills so that they can be successful in the future. I'm looking forward to tutoring students in chemistry, physical chemistry, algebra, anatomy, astronomy, physiology, biostatistics, biology, and other related topics in science and math. In my free time, I like to sing, play the keyboard, and play tennis and other sports.
