Experience

I am a genuine guy who holds integrity, honesty and trust as a foundation for creating any type of relationship. I am a confident man who is versatile and posses a strong skill in artistic techniques concerning oils, acrylics, watercolors, illustration, construction, pastels, sculpture, photography, and design. I feel that my communication skills and work ethic are highly efficient and worthy of special recognition. This would be my first time in officially being a tutor, however below is what experience & qualifications I feel I can easily translate into a tutoring session for your child. In pior jobs I have had responsibilities such as: ~ Train staff members at new franchise locations, preparing restaurant staff facility, functional commodities for openings of multi-million dollar restaurants. ~ Assist in the staffing structures of new restaurants by means of testing, scheduling, and acting as a consultant to the management staff ~ Served as a mentor or coach for training, providing constructive feedback, ensuring new associate’s adherence to company policies & procedures and leading the team to achieve profitability, growth & successful operation of business ~Teaching an Etiquette class to local school students enrolled in the Business Course elective ~Member on the Safety Committee & also CPR Certified. ~Perfect presentation of commercial products for photograph resulting in mainstream distribution I intend to apply my natural teaching & my 8+ years of supervisory skills in tutoring art & the above subjects for children. My objective is to fulfill a position in a goal-oriented field that utilizes my creativity, thirst for discovery, natural teaching and learning abilities. I am currently enrolled at SCAD in Atlanta with Painting as my major. I am nearing the end of being a Sophomore & the start of my Junior year. After receiving my BA I intend to get into Art Education. I hope to one day to own my own art school, gallery & supply store. I feel having the opportunity to offer tutor services through this website is a great stepping stone towards that direction. I have always loved art and it is a natural gift I have been given. I love to be able to share that gift with others. I have what many call a "Heart of Gold". I have also acted as a 'Team Leader' in many of my prior jobs and feel I can offer that leadership, dedication, work ethics and natural "Golden Love" into teaching your child art or any of the subjects listed above. About the Tutor Session/Lesson: I am willing to do a tutor lesson with your child up to 3hrs per day. Teaching art to a younger student is something I would love to do. These lessons would require certain supplies. This is an expense that the parent would be responsible for. Depending on what you the parent or the child themselves would like to learn would depend on the supplies that are needed. I will listen to all of your interests for you child as well as theirs. Communication with your child's educators may be necessary to more fully understand their performance. I am willing to engage in dialogue with you & your child's teachers to ensure to the best of my ability that your child grows intellectually, socially while making the learning practical and connected to everyday life in a fun way. I intend to give your child excitement, active participation & foster success. I am very flexible to different teaching methodologies as everyone has their own way of working & learning. The location of the lesson can be at your home or perhaps an open classroom or studio at your child's school. Please contact your school for full detail info & rules as some schools may not even offer such services. Times I'm Available/ Tutor Session Times: Mon. & Wed. - First tutor session time availability from 8am-11am. - Second tutor session time availability from 6pm-9pm. Tues. & Thurs. - Tutor session time available from 6pm-9pm During weekdays at 9pm I would need to leave to focus on classwork. Fri, Sat, Sun - I am available all day. Keep in mind I am taking two classes at SCAD. Completing the required reading, art projects & study are priority. So my availability may differ each day according to what I as a student need to accomplish to ensure a high grade. I also may be unavailable due to having my day booked with another child. About Meeting Students & Parents: If your 5-10 min walk or travel on Marta I will not ask for additional charge. If the distance is a 15 min or more on Marta I would ask you pay the flat fee of $5.00 to cover travel expense. If the distance is more than 45min-1 hour away I may ask you to pay me $30 for that hour due to inconvenience. Also for those who are interested and do live at a 45min- 1hr I would only be available to you during the weekend. Further let me add that the location of the tutoring would have to be within reach of the Marta system. If it is beyond where the Marta Rail or Bus go then it is possible a Taxi would necessary as I do not own a car. If this is the case upon arrival I expect to be paid for the expense of using the Taxi to & from. Also let me note being a student myself time management is very important.
