Teaching English is my life's passion, and I am searching for ways to continue teachig ESL here in Atlanta without having to move too far away from home. For this reason, I am specifically looking to broaden my horizons and reach out even further to other parts of the Metro-Atlanta community. I have been tutoring ESL students at a nonprofit organization in notheast Atlanta for over a year. At this organization, my focus has been mainly on improving ESL reading, writing, and speaking/pronunciation skills, but I am also trained in improving listening skills as well. I take a holistic approach to teaching these four critical areas, as they are entwined and often difficult to isolate, so a bulk of the activities I introduce involve practice in all four areas. I administer diagnostic/placement tests to each of my students, and if the results of these reveal problem areas in a specific area, then I tailor the lessons to target the problem area.
