Josh B.
Private tutor in Atlanta, GA
Education
I've studied Japanese through many different programs including graduating from the Japanese program at UNCC. I started many years ago through self-study and a weekly language course and eventually made my way to studying at a language school for a few months in Japan. In 2015, I transferred to UNCC as a full-time student, and I'm now living in East Point, GA, right outside of Atlanta.
Experience
I've tutored and been a TA for beginner Japanese students/classes at UNCC, and I also have experience tutoring English for small groups in Japan (Japanese students studying English). I like tutoring because I feel like I can really help expand and deepen someone's understanding of concepts, sentence structure, and overall grasp on Japanese whereas a larger class setting can sometimes cause a disconnect between the students and teacher beyond the basic information being taught. I also formerly taught beginner level drums to students from around age 5 to students in their 40's.

Hobbies
I'm a musician, and I'm also into other media (movies, anime, video games, etc.). I play drums and guitar, and I also do ambient/electronic music and MIDI music. I'm an introvert, so I prefer talking to people one on one or in small groups. I've worked with the general public for many years through retail and other part time jobs, so I find it easy to get along with people in general.
