Experience
I'm attending Emory University to earn my bachelor's degree in chemistry and applied math. My focus is inorganic chemistry. I'm looking forward to tutoring students in algebra one and two, trigonometry, calculus, chemistry, biology, pre-calculus, geometry, trigonometry, and test preparation for the ACT. I began tutoring students in high school, and I enjoyed it. I continued tutoring as an undergraduate, helping students learn calculus, introductory biology, and general chemistry. I've also helped immigrants in the Atlanta area learn English. I believe education is an important tool for the success of anyone, and I always impart upon my students why the subject we study and concepts we discuss are important. Many times students don't connect well to topics because they don't understand the relevance, and that often leads to struggles and boredom. As someone involved with research at the university, I can show students how concepts we study are used in research and in real world applications to make our lives better. This help students visualize the concepts we discuss, and it improves the retention and motivation to learn. When I free time, I enjoy studying Roman history, listening to music, going for a run, riding my bike, scuba diving, and chemistry.
