Education

I graduated from Towson University in December 2012 with a BA in Spanish and French and a cumulative GPA of 3.6 (Magna Cum Laude). I am a member of the National French and Spanish Honor Societies (Pi Delta Phi and Sigma Delta Pi, respectively).

Experience

I have tutored a wide range of students, from teenagers to adults, each with different needs and objectives. Although my main focus is on languages, I have also helped students prepare for SAT and AP exams. I received a 5 on the AP French and AP Spanish exams. I cannot remember my SAT score off the top of my head, but I remember I did very well on reading and writing. I also took the SAT Special Subject tests in French and Spanish and got a near perfect score. If you are curious to know, I can look through my old files and send you a copy of any of these scores. As a French and Spanish major, I took several composition, conversation and grammar classes in both languages. In addition to the core elements of language (speaking, listening and writing), I also took more specific courses related to the history, literature and culture of each language. I enjoy tutoring because I want to encourage students to succeed in learning another language. Speaking three languages has opened many doors for me and I want to share that opportunity with students. I have spent a great amount of time living and traveling to Spanish and French speaking countries. I love to share my experiences with students so that it may inspire them to explore the world themselves and put their language skills in action. I am a native Spanish speaker and I have been studying French since 2001. I currently use my language skills at work as a linguist analyst and freelance interpreter in healthcare and legal settings. I have worked as a government contractor for ICE (Immigration and Customs Enforcement) and DEA before. While in college, I volunteered as a translator and interpreter for some places in the Baltimore community. My resume and references are available upon request.

Hobbies

My #1 hobby is traveling. I love to explore different parts of the world - near and far - every chance I get. I am a big animal lover and I love spending time with my two cats and friends. When I'm not relaxing at home, I am rock climbing or out exploring the city with friends.
