Experience
As a tutor, I specialize in the subject of writing and am passionate about helping others develop or fine-tune their writing skills. With a background in journalism, I have confidence in my knowledge of grammar and mechanics as well as my editing abilities. I have developed exercises to help students further their own grammatical understanding, as that is key for good writing. I also have had success helping my students expand their vocabulary, improve their writing structure, and find their voice as a writer. I believe that anyone can be a good writer if given the proper tools and instruction, and I love passing on my excitement to others. I have such a sense of accomplishment when a student's writing begins to bloom and a sense of confidence is reached. I've been tutoring for the past two years and can sincerely say that I love what I do. Although I am clearly most excited about writing, I also have had experience and success tutoring in many other subjects including history (both American and European), reading, microeconomics, social studies, business, and test preparation (including GRE and SAT). Some of my other interests include sports and music and watching my favorite television show, Jeopardy.
