Experience
Tutoring is a natural outlet for my love of teaching. For the past seven years I have happily worked as a tutor. I love to help students, whether it's by helping classmates solve math equations or by working as an intern for the Georgia Tech Undergraduate Research Experience program to create a curriculum for 5th grade biology. I also had the opportunity to work as a liaison between the Georgia Tech research faculty and the classroom teacher. Through this, I had the opportunity to see innovative methods of getting the material across to students, as well as how that content was structured. Working in this capacity has helped me use new research to really elevate the curriculum. As a student at Georgia Tech, I am very flexible with my schedule and happy to help students at all times of the day through telephone, Skype, or e-mail. I excel at teaching math, which I feel can be improved upon with regular practice. My philosophy is that it's much like any sport: the more a person does it, the better they will get. Patterns start to emerge, confidence builds. Factors can vary, but the basic principles will remain the same.
