Experience

Georgia Tech President's Scholar Stamps Leadership Scholar (http://www.stampsfoundation.org/) SAT - Math: 800, Reading: 710, Writing: 780 Scores of 4-5 on many AP Exams I'm a young professional, and I recently decided to leave my first job out of college and get into the Education sector. I recently became certified as a substitute teacher through STEDI and am undergoing the application process with Teach For America but may also explore more conventional paths towards becoming a teacher. My previous job was with Cloud Sherpas, a technology company that was founded in Atlanta and has seen amazing success. I started with the company when it was still in its startup stage and left after it had grown to over 900 employees with multiple business units and a global presence. I was with Cloud Sherpas for 2 years and spent time in the roles of Project Manager and Solutions Engineer. It was an exciting place to work, full of opportunities, but, ultimately, I found that I didn't want to pursue a professional career around technology. After leaving the company on great terms, I have spent the last few months visiting my friends and family around the US and focusing and various hobbies and interests like motorcycle restoration and music production. As for some other notable items about me, I was a President's Scholar and Stamps Leadership Scholar at Georgia Tech, which are the university's premier, merit-based scholarships. The Stamps Leadership Scholarship is a full-ride scholarship awarded each year to Georgia Tech's top 10 incoming freshmen. After earning these scholarships and working for both of the scholarship programs, I am well-versed on how to best prepare for the application processes and go about earning prestigious, college scholarships. I am more than happy to help mentor high school students through this process. I graduated from Georgia Tech with Highest Honors and was an active member on campus with involvement in numerous student organizations including the Men's Club Soccer Team as well as the Ramblin' Reck Club, which is a student, athletic booster club that is responsible for maintaining the school's official mascot. Also, after graduating from Georgia Tech, I did something a little less conventional versus going straight into the workforce. I thru-hiked the 2,200 miles of the Appalachian Trail that reaches from Georgia to Maine. This adventure took me approximately 4.5 months, and I was lucky enough to share about half of the experience with my father. Previous Tutoring Experience: I served as a peer tutor throughout my time in high school. In this position, I was available in the mornings before school started to help any students that wanted to show up for tutoring services. During college, my tutoring was more informal and came in the form of group study sessions, but I also taught a freshmen seminar course one semester.

Hobbies

I have so many hobbies and interests, and it's tough not to just start listing everything out. I have a huge passion for music that ranges from making music myself to enjoying it in every way possible. I love attending shows and am an avid vinyl collector. I recently got into motorcycles and have a 1973 Honda CB350 and 1981 Yamaha XJ550. I love sports and have been playing soccer my entire life. My high school team lost in the AAAA State Championship my senior year (unfortunately), and I continued to play after high school for the Georgia Tech Men's Club Team and have played in amateur leagues around Atlanta since graduating. My ADASL team won the Division 1 league championship last season. I also played in every intramural sport that I could during college and particularly enjoy playing basketball and football just for fun. I was also a decent cross-country athlete in high school and continue to run still to stay in shape. Of course after thru-hiking the AT, I obviously enjoy any form of outdoor recreation, although I don't get to enjoy it enough. Being a Georgia Tech graduate, it also won't come as a bit of a surprise that I'm a nerd. I love to read and enjoy fantasy and science-fiction the most. I like anime and look forward to Dragon Con every year. I've been an Atlanta-native since high school and love the city.
