Katherine N.
Private tutor in Atlanta, GA
Education
In August 2014, I graduated from Georgia State University with a BA in Philosophy and a 3.82 area GPA. My college education has been well-rounded in the humanities: I have taken several classes in different disciplines, including art, philosophy, political science, women's studies, and English.
Experience
I scored above the 90th national percentiles when I took my SAT in 2009, achieving a composite score of 2110; critical reading score 690, mathematics score 690, and writing score 730. I completed my college education in a joint enrollment program at a community college and a state university, so I am able to aid students in multiple educational situations. Over the course of the last three years, I have adopted the GSU Philosophy department's rigorous standards for reading comprehension and analysis, writing, and editing. I am experienced at composing summaries and analyses of texts, and writing and editing many papers in a single semester. I have peer-reviewed papers for students in linguistics and philosophy courses. In writing and editing, I place special importance on the logical organization of arguments in essays. In tutoring, I place special importance on methodological reading, text analysis, and studying skills and time management.
