ExperienceI am a Java developer well-versed in the Java programming language(which falls under the category of what the school of thought calls an imperative language). Prior to that since the last few years I have been a MySQL developer well-versed in SQL(Structured Query language- what the school of thought calls a declarative programming language). I am currently ranked in the top 5 amongst a list of 77000 plus tutors nationwide so you can be assured of top quality. Nevertheless, I maintain a flexible schedule.
My knowledge of Java has enabled me to have an excellent understanding of the Object-Oriented programming paradigm.
In addition I'm am very able to explain and tutor fundamental programming concepts such as control flow and decision-making, programming tools, debugging, data structures, differences in languages,File input-output,Regular Expressions, data types, Functions (or methods), operations and operators, etc.
My greatest strength lies in the fact that I didn't grow up in a computer programming background (my bachelor's is in Philosophy)nevertheless I stand as evidence to encourage my students that it doesn't matter what area of study you've specialized in if you want to learn, you can program at a very high level.
I adopt and offer my students a hands-on approach to learning programming and I use real life metaphors to relate to writing efficient code.
Besides researching and implementing various ways to write more organized, efficient and creative code for Java or Android applications because I love building applications , I love teaching from a variety of subject areas.Nevertheless I really excel in tutoring relational database concepts and programming fundamentals in the Java programming language and I love seeing the excitement in students' faces when they build something interactive and creative using a Programming language or other software platform or even when they finally understand a concept their professor had failed to break down over and over again. For me, it is absolutely important to leave my student fulfilled that he/she has gained more from the tutoring experience and the knowledge than the fees charged.
My teaching style is based on the idea of simplifying material to ease the understanding of students. I believe the tutor has to have the patience to guide the student through the process of learning but also just as importantly, before you bombard your student with syntax or procedure or content you must show him/her the practical importance of what they're learning. My best tutors, from my personal experience not only had command of the subject matter but also the real world application of such knowledge. Therefore my preferred method is to connect the real world to the content as much as possible. Also I have found that it helps to make such learning as exciting as possible.
As a tutor who accepts that students exist in a real world with varying backgrounds, personalities and circumstances, I have learned to develop a spirit of practical flexibility. Tutoring for me is a continuous balancing activity where the tutor must usually adjust style and delivery of content from student to student. I am looking forward to adding knowledge and excitement to your life.
