Private tutor in Atlanta, GA
Education
Senior Chemistry Major Math Minor at Emory University.
Experience
My tutoring experience began when I was in middle school. I grew up in Taiwan, and I went to an academically intensive middle school. We began learning algebra, geometry, biology and high level chemistry in 7th grade. I was able to pick up these new materials faster than my peers and I was able to teach and help them review certain subjects before exams. During my high school career in California, I was a teaching assistant for our Chinese teacher. Often times I would explain important details after each class for the students. Sometimes I even gave lessons, especially to our middle school students. Since Taiwanese educational system is ahead of the U.S for middle school and high school, I could tutor my high school classmates for most of science and mathematics subjects too. I enjoy teaching others because it helps me review the materials and allows me to interact with others. I am also studying for MCAT this summer and this will be a great opportunity for me to review all of the science subjects while helping others I am currently in a biochemistry research lab at Emory. Our lab focuses our research on Alzheimer's disease and we work heavily on finding the structural change on the 16-22 peptide sequence of the amyloid-beta structure from the plaque that is often found in patients with Alzheimer's disease.
